Titanic Exhibition

Belfast - Northern Ireland

One hundred years after the birth of the world’s most famous ship, the new Titanic Belfast Exhibition has become one of Northern Irelands landmark buildings.

To reduce running costs, and provide a fresh comfortable environment within the exhibition and public spaces, a displacement ventilation system was chosen for the task.

Consulting engineers AECOM in conjunction with Comfort set about designing a system to suit the architectural theme which required the displacement terminal units to be non – obtrusive and recessed into the buildings fabric.

Installation

Bespoke Air Displacement

Over 150 displacement terminals were designed and manufactured specifically for the project in numerous colours and sizes to suit the client’s requirements.

Each terminal was manufactured with a variable geometry discharge system ensuring air patterns could be designed to suit each of the internal spaces and thus eliminate any excessive air velocities which otherwise may have been created.

The 150,700 Sq. Ft venue accommodates nine galleries of interactive exhibition space including a dark ride, underwater exploration theatre, recreations of the ships decks and cabins and a luxurious conference and banqueting suite, all of which are served by displacement systems.
