Many areas were treated utilising the fixed furniture available such as bookcases, bench seating, display cabinets etc, which provided parts of the structure to be utilised as supply air plenums.
Major concerns during the design process were the air velocities which could be introduced within the seated and sensitive areas. Due to the very nature of the building and the client’s requirements it became obvious that this problem could not occur, and therefore all air velocities within each space had to be kept to a minimum.
